The Joanies Trust was set up in 2003 in memory of Joan Simpson and Joan Hughes. It awards grants from the income generated by the investment portfolio created by part of their estates.

The Trustees have recently reviewed the guidelines and have decided that in order to support projects more effectively the Joanies Trust will no longer accept unsolicited applications. Trustees will use their knowledge of successful applicants over the last five years to invite charities annually to make an application for funding. There will therefore only be one decision-making round in May each year, and applications will therefore be made by invitation only.
